Notes | - For faculty and staff this attribute is displayed in the UH online directory simply as "Name." The "Name of Record" shown below it refers to Common Name.
- For WPMS the respective department contact enters a "Name", which is subsequently displayed in LDAP. It can be an unofficial name and may include a nickname.
- WPMS department contacts provide updates and corrections as needed.

- For students with a preferred first name in the Banner student information system, the display name is composed of this preferred first name followed by their last name.
- Not every person has a displayName. Consider instead givenName, sn and cn, or logic to fall back to these if there is no displayName.
- The displayName is provided for the UH Google domain use. If there is no displayName for a specific person, the Name of Record is used instead.
