Appeals Process

Promotion only

After referee uploads report and submits

• 2 radials
• was there a procedural violation? yes/no
• if yes, did it contribute to the negative decision? yes/no

goes to VP office and they need to push app forward

• if no procedural violation or if there was a procedural violation but it did not contribute to the negative decision then
• email applicant and grant access to report, end of process 
• if yes/yes
• email applicant and grant access to report
• 5 calendar days from when the applicant gets the report to request for a PRP
  • app goes to a promotion review panel (PRP)
• applicant can submit additional info

PRP uploads report and submits

• if Straney agrees with negative
  • upload report for statement of reasons
  • applicant has 10 calendar days from receipt of Straney's decision to review dossier
• if Straney disagrees with negative
  • upload report 

Workflow

Referee → Chancellor's Office (Sandra folks are VP for CC and Deena for Manoa Provost) → Applicant if referee says yes/yes → Chancellor's Office to push to PRP → Straney's Office → Final

• goes to a hearings officer
• violation or misapplication of the agreement or supplemental guidelines
