Contract Renewal Questions

  • Requirements
    • After Department Chair makes their recommendation, the faculty can see the recommendation
    • No TPRC level
  •  General
    • When do the applicants need to start building their dossier?
      • during the summer
    • What is the deadline for them to submit?
      • Are there other hard deadlines?
        • one is that the Chair makes the rec, meets with the faculty, and then forwards to Dean by Dec. 20th
      • deadlines are about the same but CR is not a hard deadlines
    • Is there an appeals process?
      • no 
    • Do we need contract renewal types, i.e CR Year 1, 2, 3, 4, or will 1 CR type be sufficient?
      • probationary applicants do CR in years 2 and 4 and then the 5th year go for tenure
      • non-probies have to do it annually
      • Just create 1 CR type
    • Any additional roles that we need to create other than the ones that we have for TnP?
      • no
    • What emails will we need to send out for contract renewals?
      • After DC makes recommendation, send email to the applicant (Sandra to provide language) saying that they can review the recommendations thus far
        • cc the coordinator
  • Site Changes
    • Are there any changes to the Eligibility tab?
      • No
    • Are there any changes to the Dossier tab?
      • New section to Address comments that were made on their previous CRs. Have the faculty add themselves.
    • Are there any changes to the Committees tab?
      • No
    • Are there any changes to the Exclusions tab?
      • no exclusions tab
    • Are there any changes to the Recommendations tab?
      • Will the DPC still have the 3 options, yes/no/strengths and weaknesses?
        • no, just yes/no 
  • Google Shared Drive permissions
    • Are the permissions the same as the tenure and promotion applications where once the applicant submits, they can't edit it?
      • yes
    • Will the applicant be able to edit their dossier anytime after they submit?
      • no
  • Workflow
    • need to add a step between DC and Dean to go to the applicant to get access to their recommendations
    • Applicant and coordinator will have the ability to push this forward to the Dean
    • applicant loses access to shared drive after the flow goes to the Dean
    • applicant regains access after app goes FINAL
