Overview


Kuali has released a new feature that will allow app builders to grant application permissions based on a logged in user's affiliation. For example, you can limit submitters to be all faculty and all staff, or students at UH Manoa, or any combination of affiliations. A complete list of affiliations can be found here. This also means that students will be added to Build, but before they are, you'll have the opportunity to modify your application's permissions.

Schedule

  • App Builders to modify permissions, if necessary
    • Thursday, July 15, 2021 - Saturday, July 31, 2021
  • Students loaded into Build
    • Sunday, August 1, 2021

What You Need to Do


If you do NOT want to restrict who can submit a document for your application by affiliation, no action is required. Your permission screen is likely setup to allow All Authenticated Users to "Create documents in this app" as shown below. 


If you want to restrict who can submit documents for your application by affiliation, untick "Create documents in this app" for All Authenticated Users. Create a role and set the appropriate affiliations. In the screenshots below,
