The Shibboleth Identity Provider (IdP) test environment (idp-test.its.hawaii.edu) will be upgraded from version 4.2.x to 5.1.x on Thursday 2024-06-27 @ 09:00.

  • This is a major upgrade, built from the ground up with essentially new infrastructure.

  • The primary goal for this upgrade is backwards compatibility with the current 4.2 deployment.

  • If you use our IdP for SAML Single Sign-On (SSO) services, we highly encourage you to test against the upgraded IdP test environment.

  • The IdP production environment will be upgraded at a time to be determined

(warning) The IP address for idp-test.its.hawaii.edu changed as a result of the upgrade.

If you encounter an error along the lines of being unable to reach the page or find the idp-test host, your system may have the old IP address cached.
If this is the case, then clearing or flushing the affected host's DNS cache should resolve this.
