Manoa Specifications

This parent page is tagged as DRAFT because it's a parking lot for Manoa's requirements.  The current specifications of the system is Application Specifications and Manoa requirements that are approved will be moved into that space.  This document is constantly changing and reflects decisions made in meetings with Manoa Chancellor's office and Community Colleges Chancellor's office.


External dependencies

Appointment Ranks (tick)

Add Offices for each Manoa Department (tick)

  • Hierarchical where Manoa Campus Coordinator is at the top level and Office Coordinator under that level (tick)

    • How many Offices would we be adding for Manoa?

  • OCs would have same capabilities as campus coordinators but they (error)

    • can’t see the exclusions

    • can’t see the TPRC committee members

  • Cut off access to OC after a certain point?? (error)

Committees (error)

  • OC inputs DPC, DC, Dean

  • CC inputs TRPC (generally after the Dean is done reviewing the application)

  • OC should be able to view the TPRC chair but not the TPRC reviewers (error)

    • Can’t imagine how to implement

      • Maybe hide the tab for the OC after the Dean level?

  • For 2018, Deena will need to be an administrator so that she can grant access to the office coordinators (but give them campus coordinator (CC) access) so that they can input eligibility info and select committees; once the OCs are done, Deena will remove them as CCs to maintain anonymity of the TPRC members

Exclusions (error)

  • Manoa will not use because they have their own site that manages this

  • Mano might be able to build an API for T&P to pull the users from (error)

    • talked to Mano 4-19-2018 and a web service is not available

  • Manoa allows more than 10 in special cases (error)

  • TPRC would be at the applicant's current (or proposed) rank or higher (tick)
  • No TPRC members from the applicant's college or school

Recommendations (tick)

  • Tenure and/or Promotion, Tenure with Promotion (tick)

    • Requires a vote for tenure and a vote for promotion at each level

    • The former requires 2 recommendation selections; voting feature won't be available for 2018 so Manoa will continue to use Laulima.

  • For DPC, change "Defer" label to "Strengths and Weaknesses" (tick)
    • "Defer" was giving the wrong impression to DPC members so modifying the wording resolves that issue

Review Status (question)

  • If they get a neg at any level, they get to see the recommendations after the TPRC reviews it

  • applicant not able to view this tab if all recommendations are positive

  • Applicant can only see DPC recommendation prior to the TPRC reviewing it (error)

  • They can see all after application is FINAL (tick)

Scheduled jobs (tick)

  • Move the application to the TPRC on the 1st Monday/Tuesday in January at 4:30pm

    • Automatic or should the system send a reminder?

Reporting (Deena to provide sample report) (tick)

  • Actions to the president but for manoa it goes to Don because Lassner is the Manoa Chancellor and President
