Membership management
Grouping membership can be fully or partially automated using existing groups from the UH Group Store. As students, faculty, staff, etc iterate through their affiliates with UH, the groups that reflect these affiliations are automatically kept current. The classic example is the UH Hilo faculty discussion LISTSERV list. The list has not been manually maintained for many years.
What can a grouping be used for?
The usefulness of a grouping continues to grow. Currently, groupings can be used for the following:
- LISTSERV mailing list membership management.
- Grouping membership assertion in CAS.
- Daily Termination reporting.
Under construction:
- Google groups membership
For future consideration:
- LDAP group membership
- Confluence group membership
- Laulima group membership
